Limburg or Tuscany Mergelland route

The Mergelland route came into life in the 1960's, when the car as a means of transport quickly gained popularity in all layers of Dutch society. The route is filled with beautiful locations and authentic buildings and leads drivers to by far the most un-Dutch landscapes of The Netherlands. Halfway through most passengers will probably stop in bewilderment and ask themselves: is this Limburg or Tuscany?
