1744, The Austrian Netherlands. When in a remote village during Sunday mass an altar boy dies at gruesome death, the young inexperienced physician’s assistant William is assigned to ascertain the cause. The church is hermetically sealed and William, aided by the young boy Joannes, begins his investigation surrounding this mysterious death.
