In a time of secularization, one religious tradition remains undiminished in popularity: the Heiligdomsvaart of Maastricht. This centuries-old pilgrimage to the tomb and relics of Maastricht’s patron saint Saint Servatius has been taking place since the 14th century. In 2018, the 55th edition of the Heiligdomsvaart was celebrated and the event again brought many people to their feet.
