The world of introverted but fiery Esra (9) is turned upside down. Her father has been disabled in a motorcycle accident and as a result they have moved. Struggling with his disability, he is no longer the father as Esra knew him. At Esra’s new school, a lie eludes her that brings her positive attention, but whose consequences she cannot foresee. So the pain, anger and shame bubbling beneath the surface inevitably find their way to the surface.
