Synopsis

25 Years on, we look back with the key players of the 1997 swine fever outbreak; farmers, partners, transporters, veterinarians and cullers, the day they had to cull is the day their lives changed forever. Farms are culled after an infection or because they are within 750m of an infected farm are culled. Even if you are so careful with your own farm you never know what happens at the neighbor’s. The protagonists of the day describe it one more time. How great is the impact of killing your life’s work, killing so many animals, and how great is the impact of something over which yourself no longer seems to have any power over.
