This is a Limburgian comedy film taking place in 2040. Yesterday’s sci-fi has become reality: increasing advancements in biotechnology and artificial intelligence are reducing humans to unnecessary beings. A great part of The Netherlands has flooded, so millions of people have fled to Limburg. Here, doctor Frank, ’the doctor of genes’, tries to create ideal children, with ideal genes and perfect brains. Alecto – an all-controlling, self-teaching AI – assists with difficult decisions, ranging from lunch to love. Yes, it’s best to leave it all up to Alecto – the ideal partner with a perfect sense of judgement. But what’s left for humans?
