In the 1960s, brothers Clemens and Richard work together in South Limburg’s Oranje Nassau 1 mine, where they happily go about their daily tasks. However, their lives take a tragic turn when Richard is involved in a fatal industrial accident. While the atmosphere of the mining village is vibrant and lively, Clemens must take on the heartbreaking task of breaking the news of the accident to their family. “Riffel” is an emotional short film that explores the unbreakable bond between brothers and the impact of loss, and shows how the history of miners has a lasting impact on the Limburg hill country.
